Ray Evernham Belvedere to Cross Block in Charlotte

Ray Evernham is nothing short of a household name in the automotive world - NASCAR championship crew chief, team owner and host of the television show "AmeriCarna" on Velocity to outline his impressive resume. In July, we wrote to fill you in on his latest venture to restore country music great Marty Robbins' 1964 Plymouth Belvedere.
Evernham is something of a Plymouth enthusiast it seems. Another '64 Belvedere that he is responsible for redesigning is about to hit the block during the weekend of October 31st to November 3rd at RKM Collector Car Auction at the Charlotte Convention Center in North Carolina.

The chassis of the Belvedere is an authentic NASCAR Sprint Cup COT chassis with Daytona 500 race experience. Everything about this beautiful car screams NASCAR performance - from the custom-style wheels to the carbon fiber front splitter. The heart of the "ForPly" Belvedere in question is packed with a NASCAR-esque adrenaline rush provided by a Kasey Kahne-driven Evernham Motorsports Dodge R5-P7 race engine, which has been re-formulated as a fuel-injected 358 cubic-inch V-8. It produces about 750 rear-wheel horsepower. ForPly's racing theme continues with a functional NASCAR air box, radiator, and a NASCAR 4-speed transmission that feeds the power to a 9-inch rear end with 3.60 gears. This intense build is easily capable of surpassing speeds of 200 mph.
Along with becoming the owner of a one-of-a-kind race car, the winner of the auction will be a part of something even bigger, as all proceeds from the sale will go to benefit the Evernham Family Racing for a Reason Foundation (a non-profit organization that funds IGNITE: a program that supports adults with high-functioning autism or Asperger syndrome).
