...this 1968 resto-mod Tempest convertible already garners plenty of attention

With GTO and Judge prices consistently and considerably higher than their Le Mans and Tempest siblings, over the years many builders and enthusiasts have decided that money saved in buying one of the latter models can be reallocated for modifications to make it look and perform at a much higher level. The result is a very desirable Pontiac that's more attainable by those of us who reside in slightly lower tax brackets.
Chris Snyder learned this economic truth back in 1991 when he was just 22 years old. "I was actually looking for a GTO, but couldn't find one in my price range," he recalls. "I instead located this Tempest Custom in the local classifieds, and, since it was a convertible [one of 3,518 produced], I jumped on it."
